Dumfries Ladies 2's travelled to Glasgow on a sunny Friday evening for their last game of the season against GHK 5's.
GHK wasted no time in trying to gain the upper hand in the match and scored an early goal in the second minute of the game. Dumfries didn't let this put them off and they applied their own pressure, playing some excellent hockey at both ends of the pitch. Unfortunately Dumfries were caught on the break just before the end of the quarter and GHK scored their second goal.
The second quarter started with GHK coming out fired up and scoring another quick goal. They held the majority of possession and the score at half time was 6-0. With some half time words of encouragement from Georgia, Dumfries came back out with their heads up.
Dumfries made some great passes and looked like they might get a goal. GHK managed to net a 7th before the end of the quarter. Dumfries continued to apply pressure in quarter 4, with both Rebecca and Emily having some near misses.
Sadly the score ended 11-0, but could have been more as Georgia made numerous excellent saves throughout the game. Opposition player of the match was Georgia and Captains player of the match was Jane. After the match, Emma presented Georgia with a gift from the team as thanks for being a brilliant Captain for the last 2 years as she steps down from this role.
