Ladies 1s started their 2025/2026 season with a home game against a roundly strong Bluesox team.

The 1st quarter started with Dumfries being pinned back in their own 25 but strong defence/goal keeping from Bell-Irving Boulton, Bryce. Nicholson, Anderson & McCubbin kept Bluesox at bay.
2nd quarter started much the same but Dumfries started to find their feet and work the ball up the pitch with the midfield of Dobie, Morrin, Barbour, Law, Topping(Jnr) and the returning to hockey Swanston feeding the ball to Topping(Snr) & Drife and testing the Bluesox defence unfortunately to no avail.

Half time 0.0

The 3rd quarter started with Bluesox winning a penalty corner which they manged to squeeze past defender and keeper into bottom right corner. This spurred Dumfries into life and they thot they equalised when Law bundled the ball over the line goal only to be ruled out.
In to the the 4th quarter and legs started to tire on both teams but Dumfries still pilled on the pressure and again thot had equaliser after a run down back line from Morrin cut back for Topping(snr) who slotted home again much to the despair of team it was disallowed ?. Bluesox threaten again looking for 2nd but the defence held strong.
Final score 1.0 to Bluesox.
