1. About Us

Dumfries Hockey Club

Dumfries Hockey Club was formed in 2009 – a joint men’s and women’s club – through the merger of Dumfries Men’s Hockey Club (founded as Crichton Royal Hockey Club) and Dumfries Ladies’ Hockey Club.

The club is affiliated to Scottish Hockey, Men’s West District and Women’s West District, and runs 4 competitive teams – Ladies’ 1st XI and 2nd XI, and Men’s 1st XI and 2nd XI – playing in West District Leagues from September to May. Alongside this, the club runs a mixed summer intra-club league; plays in hockey festivals; friendly games and tournaments, as well as getting together for training sessions, and social sessions.

The club also has a flourishing Youth Section designed for players between the ages of 5 and 14 – regular weekly training sessions, and games. Then, there is the U18 Section for 15-17 year olds who play at adult training sessions, and for club teams.

All outdoor playing activities are based at King George V Park, Queen of the South Academy, Dumfries, with social activities being based at Dumfries Sports Club (Nunholm). We also provide indoor hockey during the winter months, location is dependent on hall availability.
