In the first half Dumfries were playing dominant and wouldn’t give up and then it went are way. After winning a penalty corner, Callander passed to Law and he deflected the ball into the goal get his first ever goal for the 3s. Dumfries continue to dominate the game and Callander scored a solo effort which was disallowed by the umpire, much to the disbelief of both teams. A second goal followed when Bennett played a square ball to Drysdale-Mills who controlled the ball and had a cheeky tap-in at the back post. Hillhead had their best attack of the game when the striker hit a shot but Turner denied the goal with his upper-arm, deflecting the ball over the bar. In the last attack of the half, Drysdale-Mills played a strong pass into the D where Bennett got the deflection to give Dumfries a 3-0 lead at half time.
As we went into the second half Dumfries had a less dominant half than the first. The men in red started to play more defensive to try to protect the lead. Hillhead would run into the D, with Turner running out they got a pass off for an open goal to make it 3-1. The game was getting intense as Hillhead where attacking more and applying more pressure but Dumfries defended well.
