Dumfries U12s travelled to Uddingston for the opening festival of the 2023/24 season. It was a young squad with 3x U10s stepping up to make up the team. The heavens were well and truly open but this didn't dampen the spirit or determination from the Dumfries side who started well and maintained the pressure on the opposition in all games.

First up was Stepps which ended in a 1-0 win, Jorah scoring the winner midway through the game.
Second up was Clydesdale Blue in which Dumfries dominated possession and territory and won 2-0, Jack & Jorah with the goals. The first being the goal of the day with great passing between Calvin, Jorah and Jack with the later slotting the ball into the bottom corner past the keeper.
Third game was a 0-0 draw against Uddingston, the kids did everything but score and defended really well.
Penultimate game saw a 1-0 win against Western Wildcats with Dacey slamming the ball home early in the match. An excellent win against a team playing with an extra player.
Last game was against Kelburne and ended in a 3-1 win, Calvin (2) & Phoebe getting the goals. Another excellent team performance against a team with an extra player.

The rain didn't dampen spirits and the kids are all a credit to the club, they were fantastic today. Well done.

Next Youth Festivals are on 1st October: U10s at Greenock & U14s at The High School of Glasgow.
