Dumfries Ladies' 2s travelled to play Clydesdale Western Ladies' 7s for a 3 pm passback, with 9 players. In a game of 4 x 17.5 minute quarters, Dumfries defended well, chased every ball, worked hard to contain the swarms of attack, moved the ball up the pitch, and challenged the Clydesdale defence, but there was always a spare Clydesdale player (2 in fact) to over-run Dumfries. It, certainly, was a hard shift, but well done to Lily; Susan; Katie; Angie; Beata; Phoebe; Gladys; Cerys who held Clydesdale to one goal per quarter, and attacked Clydesdale in the last quarter, getting behind the Clydesdale defence and were so close to a goal in that last period. Overall, 4-0 to Clydesdale Western was a great result for Dumfries.
Special mention to Opposition Player of the Match, Angie Beattie and Captain's Player of the Match, Emma Sargeant.
Next Saturday sees Dumfries W2s travel to play Uddingston W4s.
