Dumfries 2's 3-0 Kelburne 3's

The 2's bring home a win!!
Saturday 26th October seen our ladies 2's welcome Kelburne 3's to KGV. With a mix of experience in the team, the 2's were hungry for a win from the start.
From the start Dumfries pressed strongly against the opposition getting the ball into Kelburne's D several times. Success came when Rebecca Topping seen the ball into the back of the net assisted by Angie Beattie, 1-0! The ball was played fairly by both teams and both teams having chances up and down the pitch whilst the game was welcomed by the good old wet Scottish weather. Then, the Topping mother-daughter duo seen daughter Eilidh get the ball and pass it to mother, Rebecca who got the 2nd goal of the game.
Half time Dumfries 2's 2-0 Kelburne 3's.
An encouraging half time talk from coach Mags motivated the girls even more going into the 2nd Half.
The second half seen more of the same as the first with both teams having some chances and Dumfries goalie Lily finally got some action getting her first touch of the ball. Fearlessly she kicked it away and denied Kelburne another chance on goal. Dumfries having a rare opportunity of subs meant Dumfries could continuously rotate subs and bring fresh legs onto the pitch which worked in their favour. Rebecca just couldn't get enough of the ball in Kelburnes D's and in the 43rd minute she scored her 3rd goal, an amazing hattrick. 3-0.
Kelburne just kept trying but failed to see the ball cross Lily's goal and the final whistle went at full time, Dumfries 3-0 Kelburne 3's. This is an amazing win for the 2's!!
A huge congratulations goes to Caitlin Topping and Sofia Young who both played their debut game for Dumfries and a special mention to Morgan Gray and Molly Kitson who had their first game back for the 2's after some absence from Dumfries.
A well done to Angie Beattie who was awarded opposition MOTM and Anna McKinley who got captains player.
The 2's came off the pitch buzzing and ready for their game against Arran the next day.
