A tough away day seen 11 players travel away to play Ardrossan 1s in sunny Saltcoats.

The first quarter saw an early goal from Ardrossan through a short corner, the initial shot unfortunately made contact with Emily Anderson’s toe and then the ball was played top corner past keeper Ally. The second goal was an unfortunate break down the right hand side, where the defensive work was not enough and Dumfries conceded a second goal. Ardrossan had some slick passing and applied pressure. Jen Nicholson put her body on the line, injuring her arm early in the second quarter. Unfortunately a quick break from Ardrossan saw a first time strike nutmegging keeper Ally. 3-0

A reshuffle of line-up seen Morven and Jen Law working hard in the centre mid and Effie and Eilidh on the wings. The second half seen much more attacking play from Dumfries with a number of goal scoring opportunities. Maz was quick in playing the ball up to Effie who used her speed to beat the Ardrossan player. However, a short corner against Dumfries when Jen L was judged to have broke the line, Ardrossan slotted away a fourth goal. The fourth quarter seen a quick attack where Kathryn pushed up and Bex was able to quickly turn and play the ball across to Jenna who was able to slot it past the keeper. Dumfries ended the game with a double attacking penalty corner opportunity but was unable to convert.

Player of the match was deservingly awarded to Effie for her performance in midfield against a strong Ardrossan player.
